ST. PATRICK'S PARISH NURSING

MISSION STATEMENT:

The Parish Nurse Ministry of St. Patrick's Catholic Church incorporates the practice of faith with the practice of nursing. Parishioners needs may be addressed through support and prayer, health education, referral to community resources and collaboration with the pastor and staff. Parish Nursing is a specialized practice of nursing recognized by the American Nurses Association. Parish Nursing is a special ministry that promotes the health of the congregation by promoting a sense of well being for the body, mind and spirit.

HOW THE PARISH NURSES CAN HELP YOU:

  • Assess the health needs of the parish, physical as well as spiritual
  • Provide healthcare information and education to parishioners
  • Conduct blood pressure and blood sugar screenings
  • Visit parishioners in their home, hospital, or nursing home
  • Refer members to resources in the community to meet health care needs
  • Refer parishioners to the parish priest for specific spiritual needs

PARISH NURSES DO NOT:

  • Replace someone's regular healthcare professional
  • Provide direct patient care

The parish nurses are volunteer registered professional nurses who have completed the Carle Foundation Community Parish Nursing Program. At St. Patrick's they function under the leadership of Amy Jobin, Pastoral Associate. If you would like to contact the parish nurses, please call the parish office.
