Time & Talent

Every year parishioners get an opportunity to give of their time and talent to the St. Patrick's Parish community by choosing which areas of ministry they will be involved during the year.
"Being involved in the life of St. Patrick's Parish makes me feel that I am truly part of this faith family. Just like any family, I'm here if they need me. But they are there if I need them also!" - Nancy Olson

"The Liturgical Arts Team fulfills all that the slogan something beautiful for God implies, and I love being part of this group that visually supports our worship!" - Jan Callahan

"I've found that involvement at St. Pat's has allowed me to fully experience what it means to be part of a community. I wouldn't trade the friendships I've made for anything. " Tracey Wszalek

"I look forward to singing in the 9:00 choir each week and working with a supportive and caring group of friends to serve our parish." - Sam Reese

"I have been blessed in meeting so many great people and sharing in the work that we've done. I have truly felt the Holy Spirit guiding our community as we follow Christ's command that we love one another." - Judy Huelsbusch

"At first I didn't feel ready or worthy to be a Eucharistic Minister. But then I realized that it wasn't all about me, but about the needs of our parish community. I was being called to answer that need. I accepted and am honored to bring the Eucharist and the community that is St. Pat's to our homebound parishioners. Twenty years later I am still cherishing the endeavor." - Pat Minogue

"Receiving Holy Communion at Mass allows me to taste and consume Jesus Christ. Being a Eucharistic Minister blesses me in an even deeper way by allowing me to touch and feel his warmth in each hand and to see Him in the eyes and smiles of communicants. This gift of service becomes an up-close and very personal relationship with Jesus Christ." - Patricia Fowler

How do I choose an area of ministry?
Try answering the following reflective questions:
What do I really care about? - education? children? helping others?
meeting people? living my faith? prayer?
What gifts or talents do I have? ? a people-person? computer-savvy?
one who can organize? a good cook? one with mechanical skills?
a leader? a team player?

What amount of time can I give?
Each day is a gift from God. How I prioritize my time should reflect my gratitude for God's care and many blessings. My parish community is committed to being a good steward of the time I give in service.
Can I give a couple of hours of service each week? be a member of a team meeting once a month? be called upon when the need is greatest?

Am I serving as an individual, apart from my family? or can my family participate together?
